The incident occurred on Thursday, February 8, just after 2:30 a.m., when the Elizabeth City Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of White Street and Walston Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 43-year-old Jermaine Major trapped beneath a 2004 Acura sedan. Despite efforts by Elizabeth City Fire personnel and Pasquotank County EMS to extract him and administer lifesaving measures, Jermaine Major succumbed to his injuries.
