At the lowest point of the Los Angeles Rams' 5-12 campaign, fans wondered if the old guard of the team would retire over the offseason.

This included key figures of the team such as Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald, and even coach Sean McVay.

As it turned out, all three would wind up returning for another season at SoFi Stadium. And as McVay indicated to the press Tuesday, Stafford is expected to be at 100% health for the coming season.

Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic relayed the following interaction from the Rams' coach.

The reporter tweeted, "Sean McVay this AM commenting on how well Matthew Stafford is doing - reiterates he will be able to have a full offseason and adds he feels a 'renewed sense of urgency' from Stafford and others, especially guys who were hurt. Stafford a full go this spring."

McVay's update must be heartening for Rams fans. While it's possible Stafford is on the slide, for the team to have any chance of contention in 2023 he must be at a full strength. And, obviously, the former Detroit Lion isn't far removed from leading the franchise to a Super Bowl.

The Rams let Baker Mayfield walk to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and currently have no other quarterbacks on their roster. The team's success rests on Matthew Stafford's shoulders in 2023.
