Alec Baldwin was seen holding a gun backwards while on the new Rust set on Friday, just one day after involuntary manslaughter charges against him were dropped for the fatal on-set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021.

Baldwin, 65, can be seen sporting a gray shirt, brown overcoat and boots when he was photographed holding a rifle by its barrel in his right hand.

According to the NY Post , it’s not clear whether Baldwin was holding the weapon that way as a safety precaution on the Montana set or if it was intentional as part of a scene.

Filming for Rust recently resumed after moving from New Mexico (where the shooting took place) to the Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana’s Paradise Valley.

Exclusive photos obtained by The Post showed Baldwin, who plays gunslinger Harland Rust, in costume on the new set for the first time, with blood-stained cuffs.

The 2021 incident occurred when Baldwin’s prop pistol fired a real bullet, killing 42-year-old Hutchins and striking and injuring director Joel Souza . Souza is one of the only original crew members back on set. Filming was immediately paused as a result.

Baldwin has long maintained that he did not pull the trigger and pleaded not guilty to the charges filed by the district attorney in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was also charged with involuntary manslaughter which has yet to be decided on.

Assistant director David Halls received six months probation for failing to check for live bullets in Baldwin’s prop gun prior to the shooting. He had pleaded no contest to a charge of petty misdemeanor negligent use of a deadly weapon and was ordered to pay a $500 fine, take a firearms safety course and complete 24 hours of community service.
