Derek Hough’s Wife Hayley Erbert in Stable Condition After Undergoing Emergency Surgery on Tour

Derek Hough 's wife Hayley Erbert was hospitalized after becoming "disoriented" during a 'Symphony of Dance' tour performance on Wednesday night.

On Thursday, the Dancing With the Stars judge shared the news on Instagram while asking fans for "prayers and positivity."

"At the end of last night's tour performance in Washington, D.C., my wife Hayley became disoriented and was taken to the hospital," Hough wrote. "She was diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy. She is in stable condition."

"I want to thank the first responders and medical personnel who have cared for and continue to care for her," he added. "I ask for your prayers and positivity during this time."

Fans and friends were quick to send their thoughts. "Prayers and love for you both!!!," Jenna Dewan commented on Hough's post, while Maria Menounos added, "Omg prayers for a speedy recovery."

In August, the newlyweds tied the knot in Monterey County, Calif., in front of 106 guests.

Speaking to People , Erbert explained that the couple chose a redwood forest setting for their special day. "We got married right in front of this mother tree that's surrounded by all these smaller trees," she shared. "They drop all the seeds, and it plants kind of like an army of children to protect the mother. The symbolism of it was beautiful. We're here, planting our seeds to grow our family."

Back in June 2022, Hough got down on one knee and proposed to Erbert in the home they shared after seven years of dating. "It's only the beginning," he announced on Instagram , "the beginning of forever."
