President Joe Biden h it out against recent news coverage of his economic policies, expressing confidence in the state of the economy heading into 2024 and criticizing reporters for failing to represent the current economy in "the right way."

“All good," Biden said in brief remarks over the weekend when asked about his outlook on the economy next year. "Take a look. Start reporting it the right way."

Biden's comments come as the economy continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, with inflation rates falling to a 2.6% annual rate in November. Unemployment rates have also improved under Biden, falling to just 3.7% last month — almost returning to the 3.5% pre-pandemic rate.

Still, even as Biden lauds the economic progress under his administration, voters remain skeptical.

Nearly 70% of voters disapprove of the way Biden has been handling inflation compared to just 28% who say they approve, according to a recent Monmouth University poll released last week . Biden has better ratings when it comes to job growth, as 42% of voters approve of the way the president has dealt with unemployment. Another 53% disapprove.

The economy is expected to play a big role in next year's elections and has emerged as a top topic for voters heading into 2024. That could spell trouble for Biden because voters overwhelmingly consider former President Donald Trump better equipped to deal with the economy.
