‘Low IQ’: GOP Insults Rep. Crockett
By Emily Prescott,
21 days agoRep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has garnered widespread criticism for her recent remarks targeting Republican leaders. Crockett referred to wheelchair-bound Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as “Governor Hot Wheels,” and argued that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) “has to be knocked over the head.” Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) said Crockett is part of the “loon wing” of the Democratic Party, noting she aids Republicans by alienating voters.
Crockett said, “We in these hot [expletive] Texas streets, honey. Y’all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there, come on now! And the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot [expletive] mess, honey!”
Crockett later said, “I think that you punch, I think you punch, I think you OK with punching.” She added, “It’s Ted Cruz. I mean, like this dude has to be knocked over the head, like hard, right? Like there is no niceties with him, like at all. Like you go clean off on him.”
Kennedy said, “They got beat in the election. And I thought they’d hit rock bottom, but apparently rock bottom has a basement,” adding, “All this is great for the Republican Party, all this lunacy, but it’s bad for America. And I wish they’d stop it. But, you know, just from a political standpoint, you never interfere with your enemy when he’s kicking his own [expletive].”
Kennedy added, “Let me say I don’t hate anybody. When I say my prayers, I ask God, don’t let me hate. It’s hard sometimes in Washington. I don’t know Congresswoman Crockett, I think he said her name was.”
Kennedy said, “I don’t know her. She’s entitled to her opinion, but I’m entitled to mine. I’ve said this before, I think the Republicans’ secret operation, secret weapon, ought to be called ‘Operation Let Them Speak.'” He added, “As far as I’m concerned, I would turn the congresswoman loose and let her keep talking. She’s making our case for us. She’s a member of the loon wing of the Democratic Party. All Democrats aren’t like that, but the loon wing is in control.”
President Donald Trump also weighed in, calling Crockett a “low-IQ person.” Trump said, “I don’t imagine the Democrats are going to have a person like that running their party.”
Crockett’s chief of staff Kimberly McClain said her comments toward Abbott were aimed at his policies, not his disability. Crockett stated, “I wasn’t thinking about the governor’s condition – I was thinking about the planes, trains, and automobiles he used to transfer migrants into communities led by Black mayors, deliberately stoking tension and fear among the most vulnerable.”
