Fiery Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has vented a surprising statement critical of President Trump - a man she once likened to Jesus Christ. The straight-talking Georgia representative is known for her unswerving support of Trump and MAGA policy.

She regularly attacks what she calls the "fake news media" for its coverage of the President. But on Friday she issued a loyalty-shredding statement critical of recent White House pronouncements on a range of topics including Ukraine, Iran and energy.

Greene wrote a long list of complaints on X that also targeted issues including trans rights, judges and Covid vaccines. She blasted: "I represent the base and when I'm frustrated and upset over the direction of things, you better be clear, the base is not happy."

Trump and his team have recently tried to address Iran's nuclear threat. Greene fired a verbal warning shot against military action.

"I campaigned for no more foreign wars," she wrote. "And now we are supposedly on the verge of going to war with Iran. I don’t think we should be bombing foreign countries on behalf of other foreign countries especially when they have their own nuclear weapons and massive military strength."

The threat of a nuclear-armed Islamic Republic of Iran has long worried the West. The White House has said it is trying to find a diplomatic solution to prevent the country from enriching its own uranium.

If Iran continues to refine the element it will soon reach levels needed to make nuclear weapons. Some have suggested an air strike might be the only way to prevent Iran becoming a nuclear-armed threat.

"Didn't we learn our lesson when we went to war in Iraq and killed Saddam Hussein because of 'weapons of mass destruction?' Did we ever find any?" Greene fumed. "And did any of that oil over in the Middle East make us rich? The answer is no, we are $36 trillion in debt today."

Greene then turned her fury on the recently announced rare earth minerals deal with Ukraine. She criticised Ukraine and is furious the war-torn European country is not committed to pay back the U.S. for the billions in aid and arms.

She asked: "Why on earth would we go over and occupy Ukraine and spend an untold amount of future American taxpayer dollars defending and mining their minerals as well as potentially putting American lives at risk and future war? Why don’t we just mine our own rare earth minerals that are tied up on federal lands that the government confiscated years ago?"

Greene is also unhappy that vaccines still have FDA approval - saying treatment "does not stop people from catching COVID". The "rogue judicial system" was another topic in her sights as was "the evil transgender assault against our children."

Her over 650-word note concluded with a warning: "When you are losing MTG, you are losing the base. And Trump isn’t on the ballot in the future, so do the math on that."

Greene recently faced waves of backlash on social media after a bizarre post to X hours after Pope Francis' passing. "Today there were major shifts in global leadership," said the self-identified Christian nationalist. "Evil is being defeated by the hand of God."

She has previously shown an almost religious devotion to the Commander-in-Chief. She once said: "The Democrats and the fake news media want to constantly talk about 'President Trump is a convicted felon.

"Well, you want to know something? The man that I worship is also a convicted felon. And he was murdered on a Roman cross."
